In a battle of unbeaten teams, it was the visiting undersized Panthers that came out victorious with an exciting 40-26 come from behind victory. The Panthers found themselves in an early deficit when we allowed a blue devil to get behind our secondary on a deep pass for a score on the first play of the game. Then, on the last play of the half it was Lawton against scoring again on a pass play to put the Panthers down 18-8. However, coming out of the half it was all Watervliet as our offense took off and couldn’t be contained and the defense was on lockdown. Scoring for the Panthers threw the air and on the ground were Levi Getz and JT Davis. Jacob Schaefer played his best game at quarterback spreading the ball around to every receiver while standing in and taking some last second hits. Defensively, it was a total team effort with Chase Tremblay and Logan Schaefer coming down with a couple big second half interceptions. Next week these undefeated Panthers travel north to Saugatuck, to try to improve their 3-0-1 record. Game time, 5pm.
