The Lady Panthers hit the road for their first game of the season to take on a tough Lawton team. The Panthers had a poor first half, often getting outworked down low and outhustled on the perimeter, which gave Lawton numerous second chances to score. Watervliet was unable to get the ball in the paint, often settled on long range shots, and failed to connect on any of them that first half. Despite the slow start, the Panthers came out fighting in the second half, and eventually cut the deficit to six points. But the ladies continued their cold shooting from the outside and were forced to foul.

Ariana Rowe played a very good second half, as she scored 12 points after halftime, and finished with 14 overall. She added 6 rebounds and 2 blocks. Taylor Shafer was steady all game, playing great defense, grabbing 4 rebounds, dishing out 4 assists, and collecting 4 steals. Celina Klimkiewicz provided some tough, quality minutes off the bench.

The Lady Panthers return to action on Tuesday, as they host a very good Michigan Lutheran team.
