Watervliet was back in action and hosted a young but talented Martin team, who the Panthers had beat a few weeks earlier in the final seconds. This game was even closer, as the game was tied after regulation 39-39. Watervliet turned up the defense in the overtime period, holding Martin scoreless, and came away with a hard fought 48-39 victory. This was the Lady Panthers best defensive performance of the season, and it was needed, as they could not hit shots from outside the first half.

The Lady Panthers got great games from Ariana Rowe, Zoe Smith, and Madalyn Hutchins. Rowe scored 26 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Smith scored 11 points all after halftime, had a career high 15 rebounds, and 4 steals. Hutchins provided some much needed offense as she scored 9 points, including two 3 pointers in the second half, and added 5 rebounds and 3 steals.

The Lady Panthers are now 6-1, tied for first place in their division, and 8-3 overall. They will travel to Berrien Springs on Tuesday to take on the Lady Shamrocks. This will be a non-conference game.
