Coed Varsity Wrestling · Coed Varsity Wrestling finishes 4th place at Clipper Classic Varsity Tournament

  Place Points
Watervliet High School 4th 0

The Watervliet Varsity wrestlers traveled to Martin High School on Saturday, and despite having no participants in 4 weight classes they fought their way to a 4th place finish out of 10 teams competing at the Clipper Classic.

The Panthers came out hot, beating Olivet 42-36 and Allegan 48-30. In their third matchup of the day they ran into a very strong Lowell team, and fell to the Arrows 18-60. Watervliet bounced back in the 4th round, beating Bronson 45-24. That victory set up the chance to compete for 3rd place against the Grant Tigers. The Panthers gave it their all but eventually fell to Grant 27-46.

Four Panthers earned individual medals at the invitational. Trever Pelton and Don Smith both went 5&0 on the day, and Jim Kolosowsky and Alex Isbrecht both went 4&1.

The team will be back at it next Saturday, January 4th, as they travel to Climax-Scotts for the Jim Wade Family Tournament.
