The Watervliet boys lost to the Coloma Comets last night in Panther Gymnasium.
The Comets came out strong, hitting multiple 3 pointers, going up 20-5 in the first quarter.
The Panthers settled down in the 2nd quarter, ramped up the defense a little and began to sink some shots on offense. Scoring in the 2nd frame was 15-13 in favor of the Comets.
Much of the same happened in the 3rd quarter, with the Panthers slowly clawing back and getting to within 12 of the Comets. A couple bad decisions and key turnovers, however, extended the Comet lead back to 20 going into the 4th.
The Panthers finished strong, outscoring Coloma 15-13 in the 4th quarter.
Sheldon Tobar led the Panther attack with 13 points including a huge baseline dunk to start the 4th quarter.
Garrett Matthews continued his hot shooting finishing with 9 points.
Ryan Chisek chipped in with 8 points as well.
The Panthers get right back at it tonight as they travel up M-140 to take on the South Haven Rams.
