The Panthers had a rough 1st half and struggled to get going. After getting the ball inside several times, the Panthers just couldn’t finish strong. In the second half, the defense stepped up and started to take control of the game. Big men Dylan Lawson, Cole Pline and Quashawn Jackson combined for 12 of the team’s 28 2nd half points and played great help defense. The guards also kept attacking the rim and were able to get the Comets into heavy foul trouble, fouling out two players. This was the third game in a row the Panthers fouled out at least two players. The Comets made a run and were able to tie the game 44-44, but the Panthers locked them up on defense and scored the final nine points of the game. Kris Lenox led the Panthers in scoring with 16 points due to aggressively attacking the rim. Kade VanNiel played an outstanding game at point guard controlling the game. Rico Hall had two HUGE offensive rebounds to help seal the victory. Hall had 9 points, Quashawn Jackson 8, Lawson 8, VanNiel 5, Davis King 4 and Pline 3.
