Meet Recap

The boys cross country team got to play hosts to the rest of the conference for the second SAC jamboree of the season. After finishing 6th out of 14 in the first SAC jamboree two weeks ago, the squad had their sights on moving up in the conference. And move up they did as they captured 4th place just barely nipping Gobles. After tying Gobles on points, it came down to which team had the better #6 finisher and the Panthers got the tiebreaker as Klayton Marshall finished well ahead of Gobles’ sixth man. Ezra Troyer and Gus Hinch were the first two Panthers to finish with nearly identical times of 18:31 to grab 16th and 17th overall. Kody Edmonds gave another strong performance crossing the line in 19:09 for 28th place. A big reason for the team’s improvement was Trever Pelton’s 19:49 finish that knocked over 30 seconds off his previous best time. Austin Roberts rounded out the scoring for the Panthers posting a season best 20:04. Numerous other Panthers had fine performances as Alex Isbrecht, Kade Van Niel, Korben Camp, Coby Henslee, Aaron Leoni, and Josh Reeves all set new personal records.
