Game Recap
The Watervliet Boys Basketball team's season came to an end Monday night in the first round of districts. The boys lost to the Bridgman Bees by a final tally of 49-32 to end the season with a 16-4 record. The Panthers battled all night on both ends of the court but they could not figure out the Bees. On the offensive end of the court Bridgman kept the Panthers offense off balance by constantly changing their defenses. When the Panthers were on defense, the Bees were very efficient with the ball and made very few mistakes while making a lot of their shots. The Panthers were lead on offense by Luke Traver who finished with 14 points. The boys should be proud of themselves and the season they had. They had a school and a town behind them and supporting them. Coach Toothman would like to thank the boys for working hard all year, the staff for coming to the games and supporting the boys, and finally the Sixth Man who became an important part of our success down the final stretch of the season as Watervliet won the division and conference titles for the first time in 22 yeares.

Game Recap
The mighty Watervliet Panthers boys varsity team came up huge for the second time this week taking down the Saugatuck Indians for the second time this season. The Panthers have given the Indians two of their three losses on the season. Defense and rebounding were the key to the performance. Battling bloody lips, bloody noses, and bloody jerseys the boys came up big in the biggest game of the season winning 55-53. Michael Strunk and Deven Schultz, along with the rest of the team kept the high powered visiting team in check all night. Michael Strunk took a player that scored 34 the first time we played and held him to three field goals. Rebounding by RJ Rudel and everyone else also kept the Indians at bay. On offense the Panthers were lead by Brian Alden with 18 and Deven Schultz with 17. This victory gave Watervliet the division and conference titles. Awesome job boys and good luck Monday against Bridgman. The team and coaches would also like to thank all the fans that proved how important they can be to a game with their showing in the Lawrence and Saugatuck games. Thanks for the support.

Game Recap
The Panthers got the revenge they were looking for after loosing to Saugatuck earlier this season. The first time around the Panthers struggled to hit the open shots, but the high shooting percentage they had the last few weeks carried over into tonight. Bradley Alden and Matt Winter continued the offense dominance they have shown the last few weeks. Alden led all scorers with 24, finished the season with an average of 14 per game. Winter's sharp shooting from beyond the arc was on display again, he added two more for a total of 23 in the last 9 games. During that stretch he shot 23/35.

While Bradley and Matt took care of the scoring the second group once again provided the lock down defense in their 1-3-1 half court trap and 3-2 zone. The second group surge was led by the quick and physical defense of Blake Kiekenapp, Brandin Legon, Ian Winkler and Alex Lefor.

The Panthers finished the season 9-0 in division play, 13-2 for conference play and 16-2 overall. The 16 wins matches the JV high over the last 23 years and the win percentage of 88% is the highest in 22 plus years.

Thank you all for your support this season!!!

Game Recap
Watervliet Lady Panthers fall in first round of Districts to New Buffalo 35-19. Turnovers, poor shooting and tough Bison defense led to a 26-2 Halftime deficit. The Panthers came out in the second half outscoring New Buffalo 17-9 but couldn't overcome the big half time deficit. Defensively Haleigh Wendzel and Freshman Logan Mizwicki gave the Panthers a spark in the second half holding New Buffalo's all-stater Jade Madison to only 2 points in the 3rd quarter and none in the 4th. Offensively Jayden Mcmiller led with 10 points, 5 rebounds and two from beyond the arc. Mizwicki had 5 points off the bench and 5 rebounds. The girls finish the season 9-11 winning their last 5 out of 7.
