Game Recap

We went to historic Benton Harbor High School and played in an amazing environment. The gym was so loud, the boys couldn’t hear the coach and were left fighting against a far superior team on their own. The boys did a great job handling full court pressure from start to finish, but finally ran out of gas in the fourth quarter when our guys simply started to run out of gas. The boys were outscored 25-5 in the fourth quarter.

The game started out great as the Panthers broke the press fairly easily and held strong on defense forcing an early Benton Harbor timeout.

The panthers were led by Andrew Chisek’s 15 points and outstanding focus and toughness as he was hounded full court all night by dozens of Benton Harbor players. Bornas chipped in 7 while Lanning and Carter chipped in 4. Conner Underwood played outstanding defense and hit a free throw.

Playing in this type of amazing environment at such a young age was an awesome experience, regardless of the final score and the coach was very proud of how the boys responded.

The Watervliet 8th Grade White team lost another tough one to Benton Harbor Charter 24-12. Norberto Palacios had 5 points, Ryan Knapp had 3, and Dominick Klein and Jacob Hanners had 2 each.
