Watervliet High School

The Panther runners finished out the regular season at the Comet Invitational hosted by Kalamazoo Christian. The girls squad found themselves a bit shorthanded but managed to finish 6th out of 14 teams. Miranda Lowell led the team with a time of 22:26 while Payton Yeske was not far behind with a new PR of 22:35. Brianna Zwar rounded out the top 3 with her own new PR of 22:46. Katelyn Brown ran a solid 23:21. Stephany Villarreal and Sophia Lechuga each knocked a lot of time off in posting new PRs of 24:04 and 25:06. The Panther boys were led by the freshmen duo of Sam Casiano and Tony Perez. Sam's 17:03 was good enough for 10th place and Tony's new PR of 18:24 was good enough for 33rd in a field of 150 runners. Zeke Cardozo turned in a season best 19:26 which was just 4 seconds from a new career PR. Connor Van Lente shaved off 8 seconds from his best time in crossing the line in 21:14.
