Cross Country Has Good Showing at Portage Invite

The Panther runners went up against many of the best teams in the state at the Portage Invitational this past Saturday. In a field of 42 teams, the Panther ladies were able to finish 18th overall which is the team's best finish at this meet in ten years. Daniella Romero led the squad with a 21:28. Miranda Lowell was second across the line in 22:20. Katelyn Brown raced her way to a new PR of 22:58 as did Brianna Zwar with a 23:08. Payton Yeske rounded out the team's scoring five with a 23:36. Stephany Villarreal continued to improve with a new PR of 25:08. For the boys side, Sam Casiano came home with a Portage Invite individual medal running a 17:32 for 42nd overall. Tony Perez had a good race coming within two seconds of a new PR with his 18:44. Eathan Burnett once again lowered his time knocking 16 seconds of his previous best while Jonah Robart did the same knocking off 30 seconds. The runner now turn their focus to this Thursday's conference championship meet in Delton Kellogg.
