JV Volleyball Falls in Two Sets After Struggles with Serves and Defense The JV volleyball team faced a tough matchup last night, falling in straight sets (25-21, 25-18) in a game marked by missed opportunities and unforced errors. From the opening serve, the team struggled to find rhythm. Defensive struggles and missed serves early gave the opposing team momentum, and despite a few strong rallies, the girls couldn’t close the gap. The serve receive line had difficulty handling aggressive serves, leading to miscommunication and limited offensive chances. Defensively, the team had trouble covering the court. Several balls dropped between players, and the back row had difficulty adjusting to tips and off-speed shots. Despite some standout hustle plays and a few solid digs, the defense couldn’t consistently slow down the opponent’s attack. Head Coach Rader acknowledged the team’s effort but emphasized the need for improvement in the fundamentals. “We’re capable of playing much better volleyball,” the coach said. “We need to clean up our serving and be more disciplined on defense. These are things we can fix with focus and practice.” The team will look to bounce back in their next match on Thursday, using this loss as motivation to sharpen their skills and come back stronger.
