Varsity vs Black River High School (4 - 3) Win Boy’s Varsity soccer took on Black River yesterday evening for their first conference matchup of the season. The game turned out to be a thriller from start to finish. Both teams came out strong and attack-minded. The first half was a back and forth battle. Tony Perez and Adrian Hernandez would score one each for Panthers to take the score leveled into the half. In the second half, the Panthers came out in attack. JT Isbrecht would put the team in the lead six minutes into the second half. From that point on, the Panther defense and midfield would step up big time to keep shots to the minimum for the Black River offense. Larry Perez would score late into the game to the seal the victory for the Panthers 4-3. The team travels to Bridgman this Wednesday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 5pm.
