Watervliet boy’s soccer picked up a 2-1 home victory over a physical Buchanan Bucks squad Wednesday evening. The Panthers defense was solid throughout the match, while the midfield of Sam Casiano, Luis Hernandez and Tony Perez contributed on both ends of the field, helping create chances offensively while also tracking back to support the defense. Despite going down 1-0 early on in the game, the Panthers aggressive press with physicality helped force the visitors into multiple errors in transition and allowed the team to create multiple counter-attacking opportunities. JT Isbrecht and Adrian Hernandez played their part in disturbing the bucks play out from the back. JT Isbrecht would eventually find the back of the net twice for the Panthers to obtain the 2-1 win at home. The team will host the Trailblazers of Saugatuck on Wednesday for a 6:30pm kickoff.
