The Watervliet JV Maroon Volleyball team put together a sharp, confident showing as they defeated Lawton in straight sets, winning 25–10 and 25–16. It was a match where the Panthers’ serving set the tone early and never let up, giving them control from the first whistle to the final point. In the opening set, Watervliet came out aggressive from the service line, stringing together long runs that kept Lawton out of system and unable to build any momentum. The Panthers passed well, moved the ball cleanly, and capitalized on free‑ball opportunities to pull away quickly and secure the 25–10 win. The second set brought a bit more back‑and‑forth play, but Watervliet’s serving continued to be the difference. Consistent pressure forced Lawton into tough passes and limited their offensive options. The Panthers stayed composed, kept rallies alive, and finished points with steady defense. Their serving strength once again carried them through the key stretches, helping close out the match with a 25–16 victory. It was a complete team effort, but the serving game stood out as the spark that pushed Watervliet ahead and kept them there. A strong, disciplined performance and another solid win. The JV Maroon girls play again Saturday at New Buffalo.
