The Watervliet JV Volleyball team put together a determined and hard‑fought performance, winning their tri against Berrien Springs and Buchanan. The Panthers showed both control and resilience throughout the night, earning a straight‑set win over Berrien Springs before grinding out a three‑set victory against Buchanan. Watervliet opened the evening strong against Berrien Springs, playing confident volleyball. Their serving was steady, their passing was sharp, and they kept rallies alive with disciplined defense. Their consistency paid off as they secured a 2‑0 sweep to start the tri. The matchup with Buchanan proved more challenging. Watervliet struggled at times with their hitting, leaving attacks short or sending balls long during key rallies. Buchanan capitalized on those miscues, pushing the Panthers into longer points and forcing a deciding third set. But Watervliet didn’t fold — they regrouped, tightened up their communication, and focused on smarter, controlled swings. Their grit showed as they battled through the final points, earning a 3‑set victory and closing out the tri undefeated. It was a night that highlighted both their strengths and their growth areas — but most importantly, it showed their ability to respond, adjust, and finish strong. A solid tri-match win and another step forward for the Watervliet JV volleyball. The girls play again next week Thursday against Lawton.
