The Panther cross country squads got their season off to a good start Wednesday evening at the Bridgman Invitational. The girls finished second behind the host Bridgman Bees. Daniella Romero led the effort with a 3rd place finish in a time of 22:53. Miranda Lowell was 7th in 23:53 while Stephany Villarreal rounded out the top three Panthers with a 24:24 for 14th place. Katelyn Brown paced herself to a 25:23 17th place finish. Payton Yeske and Alex Zuniga made it six Panthers in the top 30 with their 23rd and 29th place finishes. Sam Casiano was the top Panther guy finishing 7th overall in a time of 19:12. Tony Perez crossed the line in 20:51 for 17th place while Colt Mattner just missed out on a top 20 finish placing 21st in 21:29.
