Watervliet Public Schools

On Wednesday the qualifiers for the state track meet traveled to Lowell for the last meet of the season. In attendance; Remi Sexton, Emerson Bohle, Jackson Bowman, Kevin Hernandez-cruz, Daniel Perez, and Colt Mattner. All athletes that attended the meet placed and received a medal. The boys 4x800m relay team of Jackson, Kevin, Daniel, and Colt took 2nd in their race with a time of 9min 48.18sec. Jackson placed 2nd in the 200m hurdles with a time of 26.84seconds and placed 4th in the 200m dash with a time of 25.18seconds. In addition to placing in all 3 of his events, Jackson also broke the middle school record for the 200m dash that he set earlier this year. Way to go, Jackson! Emerson received a medal in all 3 of her events. She placed 2nd in the 70m dash with a time of 9.82 seconds. She placed 3rd in the 100m dash with a time of 13.42 seconds. She also placed 3rd in the 200m dash with a time of 28.26sec. Remi took 1st overall and is the new middle school state champion in shot put with a throw of 37ft 2.5in. Not only did she place 1st, but she also broke her own school record that she set earlier this year. Awesome Job, Remi. Congrats to all athletes on an amazing season!
