In the nightcap, the young Panthers earned their biggest win of the season, knocking off the state-ranked Dowagiac Chieftains 4-3 in an exciting battle. Mackenzie Birmele delivered the performance of her career in the circle, tossing a complete-game seven-inning effort while allowing just three hits, one walk, and striking out two. The Panthers offense was led by freshman Alexis Eberhard, who collected two hits and an RBI. Kaylee Bartee and Layla Klimkiewicz each added a hit, with Klimkiewicz recording her first varsity knock. Rae Prestidge and Sophia Radar chipped in with a hit and an RBI apiece, while Ava Thomas also contributed with a base hit. Coach Golden praised the team’s “All In” attitude, energy, and excitement in the statement win. With the victory, the Panthers improve to 21-12 heading into districts. They will face Hartford on Tuesday in Bangor at 5:00 PM. Go Panthers!!
