Watervliet Public Schools

The Panthers welcomed the state-ranked Division 2 Dowagiac Chieftains on Friday night and, despite a young lineup with no seniors, showed grit throughout. Facing one of the top pitchers in the division, the Panthers consistently put the ball in play but ultimately fell 7-0. Freshman Sophia Radar and sophomore Emma Kirksey each collected a base hit, while sophomores Kaylee Bartee and Ava Thomas reached base multiple times to lead the offense. Kirksey also battled in the circle, turning in a tough performance against a strong Chieftains lineup. The Panthers will look to bounce back in the nightcap.
