The Panthers went into Bangor to compete in the regional track meet against 14 other schools. When it was all said and done, the Panthers improved over last year's results in both team score and moving kids on to the state meet. The Panthers finished with 32 points which put them in 10th place, and the lone State qualifier was Cole Getz. Cole finished second place in the long jump which qualified him for the state meet. He also finished 7th in the 200m dash. Other highlights included. Sam Casiano finishing third in the 3200 m run, Kyle Domingo sturgeon finishing 5th in the high jump and Alvin Jones finishing 4th in the 110 m hurdles. One big factor in tonight's events was the weather. The high temperature was right around 50° and we had a wind blowing pretty severely most of the day which affected both distances and times in the races. Next competition is next week in Grand Rapids when some of the kids will compete in the distance under the lights.
