The Watervliet Panthers dropped a tough 12-11 decision to the Brandywine Bobcats in the nightcap of a doubleheader, despite another strong showing at the plate. Watervliet’s offense stayed hot, pounding out 12 hits, including home runs from Emma Kirksey and Rea Prestidge. However, defensive struggles proved costly, as errors extended innings for the Bobcats and led to multiple unearned runs. Sienna Bulat led the Panthers with a double and two RBIs, while Kendle Kiefer added two singles and drove in a pair. Kate Kostrzewa chipped in with two singles and an RBI, and Leila Liberto-Taylor also collected two hits. Alexis and Madison Eberhard each contributed a single in the effort. Kirksey and Prestidge each added a home run and an RBI to power the offense, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the defensive miscues. Mackenzie Birmele took the loss in the circle. With the loss, the Panthers fall to 9-4 on the season and will travel to South Haven on Tuesday.
