Watervliet Public Schools

The Watervliet Middle School Panthers had a great first meet! All athletes were able to set PRs for themselves, everyone exhibited great sportsmanship, and a few athletes went above and beyond to set school records! For the boys team: Isaiah Contreras took 1st place in the 100m run and the 200m run. Victor Lopez-Rojas took 3rd place in the 400m run and 2nd place in the 800m run with Colt Mattner coming in 3rd. Daniel Perez took 2nd place in the 3200m run. Jackson Bowman took 1st in the 200m hurdles. The 4x100m relay team of Mason Kinsler, Jackson Bowman, Izaiah Contreras, and Luis Hernandez took 1st place The 4x800m relay team consisting of Daniel Perez, Luis Hernandez, Angel Cervantes, and Victor Lopez-Rojas took 2nd place. Mason Kinzler and Jackson Bowman took 2nd and 3rd in long jump. For the girls team: Emerson Boyle took 1st in the 200m run and in the 400m run Ally Casiano took 1st in the 1600m run The 4x400 relay team of Amara Dodge, Lisette Perez, Allison Esparza, and Marissa Alcaraz took 2nd place. The 4x800 relay team of Hannah Halamka, Lisette Perez, Ally Cassini, and Marissa Alcaraz took 2nd place. Remi sexton took 1st place in shot put. Lastly, we want to give a couple of special shoutouts: The first one goes out to the 4x100m relay team for now holding the fastest recorded time in middle school history with a time of 50.56 seconds! Our second shoutout goes to Jackson Bowman for now holding the middle school record for the 200m hurdles with a time of 28.31 seconds! Great job to all of the middle schoolers that competed in their first meet of the season!
