Saint John’s Invitationals

The Watervliet Panthers capped off a strong day at the Saint Johns Invitational with a dominant 12-2 victory over the Jackson Northwest Mounties to claim the tournament championship. The Panthers wasted no time getting the offense rolling, coming out hot at the plate. Emma Kirksey led the charge with a standout performance, collecting a single and two doubles while driving in two runs. Sienna Bulat, Kendal Kiefer, and Ava Thomas each added a hit to keep the lineup moving. Kate Kostrzewa chipped in with a single and an RBI, while Ava Trapp contributed a single and knocked in two runs to help extend the Panthers’ lead. In the circle, Ava Thomas delivered a solid outing to earn the win, controlling the game and backing up the strong offensive performance. With the win, the Panthers improve to 5-2 on the season and will open divisional play Tuesday as they host the Fennville Blackhawks.
