Watervliet Public Schools

The Varsity Lady Panthers fell at home to the number 1 ranked team in the district, Gobles, 33-42 Tuesday evening. The Panthers found themselves in a hole early after a Gobles 16-4 run to start the game and ultimately trailed 19-8 after one. The defense quickly found its groove as the Panthers limited the Tigers to single digit scoring in each of the quarters for the remainder of the game. Trailing 35-27 going into the fourth, the Panthers cut the deficit to 3 in the final minutes but eventually ran out of steam. Offensively Watervliet took care of the ball throughout, recording it's lowest turnover total of the season. Leading the charge for the Panthers in the scoring column was Daijahnae Hatcher 10, Isabella Bultema 7, Addison Smith 6, Moeko Crago 4, Aubrey Winnell 4, and Kate Kostrzewa 2. The Panther's fall to 7-10 on the season and are back in action for Senior Night on Friday as they host Coloma. Tip off is scheduled for 6:00pm.
