Watervliet Public Schools

The Varsity Girls Basketball team traveled to Coloma Friday night and knocked off the Comets 37-18 to remain undefeated in SAC Lakeshore divisional play. The first quarter was tightly contested, with the Panthers taking an 11-7 lead going into the 2nd. Watervliet's defense was the story from there on out, holding to Comets to just 11 points for the rest of the game. Watervliet led 20-9 at the break and 28-13 after the third. Leading the way offensively for the Panthers was Isabella Bultema with 11 and Marissa Lowell with 7. Rounding out the scoring were Moeko Crago 6, Leila Liberto Taylor 4, Miranda Lowell 4, Aubrey Winnell 4, and Addison Smith 1. The Panthers move to 6-2 on the season and 3-0 in SAC Lakeshore play. They are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Constantine for a non-divisional game. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00pm.
