Lady Panthers fall in last minute thriller Junior Varsity vs Dowagiac Union (35 - 38) Loss On Monday evening, the Lady Panthers hosted the Chieftains from Dowagiac. The Chieftains came out aggressively, forcing the Panthers into defense early-on. The Chieftains would score the first bucket of the game and head into the first quarter with a 9-4 lead. The Panthers used their defense to keep the game close at half trailing 18-11. The Panthers adapted in the second half, closing the deficit in the 3rd quarter outscoring the Chieftains 12-8 and heading into the 4th down 26-23. The Panthers continued clawing back, dropping 2 vital 3 pointers. Their defense forced the Chieftains 3 straight scoreless possessions. The team would grab a 35-34 lead with 1 minute remaining, setting the scene for a thrilling, edge-of-your-seat, finish. Ultimately. the Panthers would take the fall 38-35.
