Watervliet Public Schools

The Watervliet Varsity Girls Basketball team moved to 4-0 on the season after knocking off the Bridgman Bees, 43-37 at home Friday night. The Panther defense once again came to play holding it's fourth straight opponent to under 40 points. The Panthers led by a point after the first quarter and extended the lead to five (23-18) at the break. Watervliet jumped out to a nine point lead early in the third before the Bees stung back and rallied to tie the game in the 4th. The Panthers ultimately prevailed after a number of key stops and transition buckets. Leading the Panthers in the scoring column on the night were Daijahnae Hatcher with 14 and Moeko Crago with 9. Rounding out the scoring was Addison Smith 6, Isabella Bultema 6, Leila Liberto Taylor 4, Kate Kostrzewa 2, and Hailey Adams 2. Watervliet is now 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in the SAC Lakeshore Division. Their are next in action on Monday, December 29th when they take on Lawton at the Bangor Holiday Shootout at 12:45pm.
