8th Grade vs Upton Middle School (23 - 25) Panthers Fall Just Short in Season Finale The Watervliet Panthers 8th Grade White boys basketball team lost a tough, hard-fought game to St Joe Upton Middle School on Monday night, falling 25–23 in their final game of the season. Bentley Gaston led the Panthers on offense with 13 points, while Jackson Halamka added 7 points. Kevin Hernandez chipped in 3 points to help keep Watervliet within striking distance all game. Defense was a strong point for the Panthers, as Landon Tipton, Bradyn Fuller and Robert Brooks played outstanding defense throughout the night, making it difficult for Upton to score. Coach Golden praised the team’s defensive effort and their refusal to give up, saying he was proud of how hard the players competed until the final buzzer. The Panthers showed heart and determination in a close season-ending battle.
