Watervliet Boys' Varsity Basketball opened the season with a 51-40 home victory over Howardsville Christian on Tuesday night. Senior guard Caleb Jewell scored a game-high 19 points, with 17 of those coming in the second half and 10 in the 4th Quarter. Freshman Hayden Billings contributed 13 points and a number of big hustle plays in his first HS game. Phoenix Anderson (6 pts), Remington Burke (6 pts), and Kyle Domingo (5 pts) rounded out the balanced scoring for the Panthers. Watervliet travels to South Haven for the SAC Lakeshore opener on Friday.
