The Watervliet Panthers secured their spot in the District Championship with a convincing sweep over the Gobles Tigers in the semifinal match, with scores of 25-14, 25-22, and 25-19. The Panthers demonstrated control from the first serve, never allowing Gobles to dictate the pace of the match. The victory is a clear indicator that the hard work and competitive fire the team has fostered in practice is translating directly to postseason success. Serving and Defense: Kelsie Gaston and Addison Smith led the team in serving, each delivering three aces. Gaston also anchored the back row, racking up 12 digs to keep rallies alive. On the attack, Ava Hobson achieved a perfect night with 6 kills on 6 attempts. Isabella Bultema commanded the net, leading the team in blocks and aggressively challenging the Gobles offense to maintain Watervliet’s defensive wall. The entire squad's commitment to pushing each other daily in practice has clearly forged a resilient and cohesive unit ready for the final challenge of the district tournament. The District Championship will be played Friday at Bangor starting at 5:30 PM vs Bangor.
