On Monday, June 15th at 7:30 pm the Watervliet Athletic Department will restart its athletic programs with a week of workouts. These workouts will be open to ALL Watervliet High School Athletes. Workouts will be in the stadium and coordinated by our high school coaches. The plan is to re engage our student-athletes, coaches, and our Panther athletes.
When athletes arrive for workouts, they are asked to enter the stadium and respect social distancing guidelines. Please refrain from any physical contact with other athletes. We will ask athletes to sanitize their hands when they enter the workout area and ask them to bring their own water bottle for hydration purposes.
Before an athlete can participate in these workouts, parents must sign their daughter/son up on final forms for the 2020-2021 school year AND bring back a COVID-19 Waiver, which is attached in the link at the bottom of this message. Please print this waiver and bring it to your first workout. For Final Forms, best way to do this is go to www.watervliet.finalforms.com.
Safety measures will taken and guidelines set up by the NFHS and the MHSAA will be followed. Each day kids will be asked the following questions: 1. Have you been in close contact with someone with COVID-19? 2. Do you have a sore throat? 3. Have you had a cough? 4. Do you have a shortness of breath? 5. Do you have a fever? Temperatures will also be taken. If athletes answer yes to any of these questions or their temperature measures more than 100.3 degrees they will be asked to leave the workout area and return home. We are asking that parents and athletes be proactive and NOT show up for any workouts if they have any of these symptoms.
