Jeremy grew up in Boyne City, Michigan. From there he went on to attend Kalamazoo Valley Community College for two years before earning his bachelors and masters degrees both at Western Michigan University. As an undergrad he pursued a secondary education degree; his masters is in Sports Management/Athletic Administration. He joined the teaching/coaching staff at Watervliet High School 17 years ago.
This is Jeremy’s 13th season as Head Coach for Panther Varsity Football. His assistant coaches this season are Chris Prom, Kyler Kiekenapp, and Benny Loshbough. Jeremy has also coached baseball and middle school track at Watervliet, and this past spring took on the role as varsity golf coach.
Jeremy played varsity football, basketball and baseball at Boyne City High School, and also two years of baseball at KVCC. He grew up with one younger brother, is now married to Watervliet Middle School Teacher Lauren Andrews and they have two wonderful children (his words), Jocelyn (4) and Cedric (2). Jeremy says he loves spending time with his family taking the kids camping, boating, bike riding, etc. Another pastime is golf, which has become an obsession with him over the years. He is also passionate about travel and feels fortunate to have had opportunities to visit many U.S. states and much of Western Europe.
Jeremy says the challenge each year is to continue the level of success we have maintained for almost a decade. More importantly, he hopes to help the young men in the program to grow and mature through the many lessons football can provide.
