Game Recap

The Watervliet Lady Panthers hosted their rivals, the Hartford Indians in the first round of the Watervliet Holiday Tournament, and came away with a hard fought 67-51 victory. The Panthers took an 8 point lead into the 4th quarter, but the Lady Indians fought back and cut the lead to 3 with 6:40 to play. After a Watervliet timeout, the Lady Panthers responded, going on a 20-7 run to end the game. Senior captains Katie Schultz and Casie Gohr led the Panther attack. Schultz scored a season high 19 points, Gohr also had a season high of 14. Schultz added 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Gohr played an excellent floor game, with 6 rebounds, 6 steals, and 4 assists. Ariana Rowe scored 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, while Kara Liles added i points and 6 boards. The Lady Panthers went an impressive 16-23 from the foul line. They will play in the championship game on Friday at 7pm against White Pigeon.
