Game Recap

The Watervliet Lady Panthers came out flat in the first half against visiting Saugatuck, struggling to a one point halftime lead. A slow start to the second half saw the lead turn into a 5 point deficit. After a quick timeout, the Lady Panthers woke up and took over the game. The Panthers lead grew to 15 points and cruised to a 45-36 victory. Jaelyn Pitre was hot from beyond the arc, hitting four 3’s and led all scorers with 14 points. Zoe Smith and Logan Mizwicki finished with 9 and 8 points, respectively, and contributed several key steals in the important third quarter. Taylor Shafer started her first varsity game, scored 6 points, and helped shutdown Saugatuck’s best player in the 4th quarter. The Lady Panthers have won 3 in a row and are now 3-2 on the season. They will host the Watervliet Holiday Tournament on December 29th and 30th.
