Meet Recap

The Panther boys ran in the state’s largest and most competitive race of the season on Saturday, the Portage Invitational. The Panthers finished 24th in the 48-team field. Once again, Jobe Kerr led the team finishing 19th out of 307 total runners. His time of 16:43 was his best yet this season. Dominick Tavolacci also ran his best time of the season with an 18:09. Freshman Gus Hinch knocked 14 seconds of his previous best finishing in 18:41. Brent Simmons was close behind Gus as his 18:46 made it 4 Panthers under 19 minutes for the first time this season. Other notable performances included Rick Ertman lowering his time by 51 seconds to 19:39, Tom Swanson’s 20:23 which is his second fastest time, Kody Edmonds whose new PR is 20:25. Isaac Willmoth, Trevor Pelton, and Josh Gruszczyk all set new PRs as well.
