Game Recap
The boys cross country team finished 7th in a field of 27 teams at the Division 3 State Meet. The Panthers raced well on a soft, soggy, and muddy course to improve upon last season's 8th place finish. Sophomore Brendan Daly was the top Panther on the day finishing 35th overall, just 5 spots shy of All-State honors, with a 16:52. Daly was the 6th best sophomore finisher in the race. T.J. Hoffman was the next one in at 17:20 for 73rd place. Brock Thumm continued to gut his way through a hampered hamstring to finish in 97th place with a time of 17:30. Patrick Lynch and Reese Jones rounded out the scoring for the Panthers finishing with times of 17:46 and 17:56 and places of 111th and 126th, respectively. Senior Michael Foote, continuing to battle illness, fought his way to an 18:06 140th place finish. Foote provided Watervliet with the 6th-man tie breaker needed to put the Panthers ahead of Jackson Lumen Christi whom they had tied with on total points. Valentin Casiano finished things up for the team finishing 181st in 18:44.

In the girls race, Gabby Tavolacci ran a 20:29 to place 61st in a field of 239 runners. She was the 10th best sophomore in the race.
