Meet Recap

The Panther girls opened the cross country season at the Bridgman Invitational. Unfortunately, for this meet the team only had three girls compete instead of the 5 needed to achieve a team score. This particular meet chooses not to use modified scoring so teams with less than 5 runners are not scored in the team competition. Watervliet was not alone in this as only 8 of the 14 schools had the required 5 girls. Alyssa Hobson got off to a very good start to the new season as she covered the course in 24:59 to get 27th place. This was easily the fastest time of the four times she has now raced this course in her high school career. The other two Panthers were both making their high school debut as freshmen AJ Hammond and Bailey Swisher finished in 28:14 and 30:58, respectively.
