Watervliet Holds Off #3 Ranked River Valley 5-4.

Despite seeing its five-run lead whittled down by the end, Watervliet still held off River Valley for a 5-4 victory on Saturday. Watervliet grabbed an early lead. The Panthers scored on a single and a passed ball in the second inning. Theresa Skogen drove in one run when she signed in the second inning. Skogen, Celina Klimkiewicz, Sabrina Klimkiewicz, Taylor Shafer, Zoe Smith and Ariana Rowe each managed one hit to lead the Panther offense. The Panthers played solid defense in the double header.

Kara Liles earned the win for Watervliet. She went six innings, giving up four runs, four hits, and striking out four. Ariana Rowe recorded the last three outs to earn the save for the Panthers.

The Panthers ended the regular season by winning its last 12 games. Watervliet will play Tuesday in the Pre-District game vs Coloma at 5:00

The Panthers overall record 27-7.
