Game Recap

The Watervliet Panthers got a big win vs. the Bangor Vikings last night at Panther Gymnasium.
The boys took a couple minutes to get going, but once they did there was no turning back. The Panthers led 18-9 after the first quarter, but did their most damage in the second quarter. Using a balanced and patient attack, the Panthers were able to pick apart the Vikings 2-3 zone and got great looks in the paint. This led to a 26 point quarter which is the highest scoring quarter of the season for the boys.
That theme continued in the 3rd quarter as Watervliet put up 23 points.
Although the game was stopped with 3 minutes left on the clock due to a fire alarm going off, Watervliet was able to put up 82 points which is a season high by almost 20 points.
Huge performances were put in by:
Sheldon Tobar – 21 pts, 17 rebounds, 5 assists
Dan Cluster – 16 pts, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 2 assists
James Bell – 10 pts, 5 rebounds
Ryan Chisek – 8 pts, 4 rebounds, 3 deflections, 2 assists
LA Smith – 6 pts, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, 2 deflections
The Panthers travel to Kalamazoo to take on Hackett Catholic Prep on Tuesday night.
Watervliet Power.
Panther Pride.
