Meet Recap

The Panther ladies had their best overall team performance on Saturday at the Comet Invitational in Kalamazoo. With two girls running their fastest races of the season and the others posting times close to their season bests, the girls were able to finish 6th out of 15 teams. The team’s 140 points was equal to 5th-place Grand Rapids Union but the Panthers dropped to 6th on the tiebreaker. Tayler Shafer and Allie Pazera spearheaded the team running aggressively from the start. Tayler ran her best time of the season, 21:19, to grab 11th place while Allie was right behind with 21:22 for 16th place. Jade Miller continued her late-season surge knocking 39 seconds of her time to post a 22:34 for 41st place. Bailey Evans and Alyssa Hobson continued to provide much-needed depth for the squad with Bailey crossing the line in 23:21 and Hobson in 23:57.
