Meet Recap

The Panther boys kicked of this year’s conference portion of the schedule with the first SAC Lakeshore Divisional Jamboree at Decatur. In a field of 9 teams, the Panthers finished a strong third behind Saugatuck and Bangor. Jobe Kerr followed up his first place finish at last week’s Teske Invitational with another first place. Jobe ran a season best 17:11 to edge out a strong group of Saugatuck and Bangor runners. The next five Panthers all improved by at least 30 seconds to provide the team with some needed depth. Klayton Marshall posted a new PR with a 19:11, while Dominick Tavolacci (19:22), Brent Simmons (19:23), Nick Swanson (19:53), and Gus Hinch (19:55) all ran season best times. Austin Roberts rounded the top 7 varsity with his 20:25, also a season best. Freshmen Alex Isbrecht, Kody Edmonds, and Isaac Willmoth all earned new PRs for their early high school cross country careers. Tom Swanson and Rick Ertman proved they have better races in their future as they ran their fastest times of the season thus far.
