Game Recap

The Lady Panthers faced off verses the Blue Devils of Lawton with a 90 degree temperature at kickoff.

The Lady Panthers started strong with quality defense and passing creating a number of good scoring chances before giving up the lone goal of the first half with ten minutes remaining to trail 0-1 at the break.

The Panthers came out strong again on defense in the second half, before going down 0-2 with 25 minutes left in the game. Good defense and quality attacks by Gohr and Krakalu kept the pressure up, however the heat wore down the young Panthers side and they conceded goals 3, 4 & 5 in the final 10 minutes of play.

Down 0-5 with 39 seconds in the match, Senior Mid-fielder Hannah Armstrong drew a foul 30 yards from the Blue Devil goal. The Panthers dropped 9 players into the box and pulled freshman goalkeeper up to take the free kick and ruin the visitors shutout.

Victoria Smith took the free kick with 17 seconds remaining in the half with a laser over the Blue Devil wall that finished over the out stretched arms of the Devils keeper.

A great performance overall by the Lady Panthers even with them fading down the stretch against a quality veteran team touting 3 All Regional and 1 All state player.

Players of the Game: Junior Goalkeeper/Forward Casie Gohr, Senior Mid-fielder Hannah Armstrong and Freshman Goalkeeper/Forward Victoria Smith.
