Game Recap

Yet another Panther game comes down to the wire and this time the Panthers came up victorious. Facing off against the crosstown rival Hartford always draws a big crowd and extra excitement in the players and tonight did not disappoint.
The two teams agreed to partake in a college rules night where the teams played with just two 16 minutes haves and both teams battled back and forth the first half with the Panthers hitting a late two to take the lead into half time.
Late in the second half the Panthers found themselves down six points, but battled back with a few and one opportunities by Kyler Kiekenapp and some timely free throws by sophomore Center Daniel Cluster. When the buzzer for regulation rang the fans found themselves getting some free basketball in the form of overtime.
Senior SG Matt Winter carried the scoring load most of the night leading the Panthers with 18, but it was Kyler Kiekenapp who hit many late shots near the end of regulation and five free throws in OT. Winter also went 4/4 from the line in OT.
The Panthers started quick in OT taking an 8 point off free thows by Matt Winter and Kyler Kiekenapp along with some huge buckets by Cameron Rendo and Dan Cluster. That lead proved enough to close out the Indians.
It was a true team effort tonight with five players scoring 8 or more, many team steals and scrap plays.

Matt Winter 18 points, 8 rebounds
Kyler Kiekenapp 15 points, 5 rebounds
Dan Cluster 9 points, 14 reb, 6 blocks
Cameron Rendo 8 points
Tyler Loomis 8 points
