Meet Recap

The Watervliet Boy’s State Qualifiers came to run today! The 4×800 team of Jobe Kerr, Valentin Casiano, Garrison Muth, and Brendan Daly started off the running events by running a phenomenal time of 8:12.22, earning them an All-State 7th place and breaking a 41 year old record held by the great team of Dave Null, Mike Lynch, Jeff Brock and Chuck Brock!! Garrison Muth would later compete in the open 800, running a fantastic time of 1:59.70 – 4th fastest in WHS school history!! Joey Wells ran the 3rd fastest time in WHS school history in the 300 M Hurdles, only .25 sec off the school record!! Lamarrius Smith, our star freshman state qualifier, tried his hand at the long jump, jumping 17’4.5″ – well off his average. Later on LA gave it his best in the high jump, but a slip on his first attempt at opening, then a few glitches later and he was out of the competition. Still young, but got a taste of State. LA will be back. Great job to all the gentlemen!! For more detailed results, see the attached Geno Sheet.
